Welcome!! Our New Restaurant — “Sal y Ajo”

5 December 2013

We are tickled to introduce the latest addition to our Viapark family, Restaurant Sal y Ajo. The brain-child of local hotelier Alex Caceres, Sal y Ajo (Salt & Garlic in English) marks a step up in the dining experience available along the Costa Del Oro. Alex recognized the need for something a bit more upscale than the pizza and parilla fare common to the region, and has created a menu focused on the seafood offerings from the adjacent Atlantic Ocean. In the summertime, Sal y Ajo will also support the beach-front Parador, providing specialty drinks and food to-go (in addition to typical beach-goer favorites cervezas, refrescos and helados).

Chef Matias will direct the kitchen while Tiago attends to the table-side needs of our diners; come enjoy what this duo has to offer.

Welcome aboard Sal y Ajo!

I have already tried it twice and found both experiences to be unique in the area. EXCELLENT gourmet level food, good service (really unusual), a superb wine list featuring some of the world class wines from this area. They are still just getting their feet wet but it sure looks like “the place” to eat if you want something good and not normally available in this area (should I say ‘country’?). I am thrilled to have them in our area.
